The Handkerchief Heist: When Trust is Shattered in the Workplace

I am in my office writing an email. My brother calls me. “Ben, the sales girl is stealing money. She is caught on CCTV”.

I reply, “No way. But she knows the Cameras are there. She knows the cameras are watching her”

I call her inside my office and accuse her of stealing. In the beginning, there is complete denial. She is angry that we are accusing her of being a thief. How dare we?

In the video playback, she is seen moving money from the desk onto the floor. She takes her handkerchief and places it on the money. She waits a few seconds and grabs the handkerchief with the money. All the above actions take less than 120 seconds.

In the end, she confesses. Returns the stolen money and never comes back to work.
