It’s 1987. My Dad is doing well as a young doctor. He is part of the middle class. He decides to keep up with the Joneses and buys a black and white TV.
We can now see moving pictures on the screen. We have a 13-inch Black and White Television. We cannot contain our excitement. We cannot watch the Television without my Dad being around. We have to wait to ask for permission.
We had only one channel – Ghana TV. There was no such thing as 24-hour News Television. Television Broadcasting started at around 5 pm and ended at 10 pm. That was it.
Compare this to 24-hour Cable TV and 80-inch 8k Curved Retina Display Monitors. And my kids still want more.
