The Paradox of Proximity: Unraveling the Chinese Restaurant Conundrum

I don’t ever eat at the Chinese restaurant near my house.

My kids do though.

I will drive for 30 minutes to another Chinese restaurant to get the same chicken fried rice and shrimp sauce.

The reason I can’t put my finger on it. It almost doesn’t feel exotic enough.

Is it because it is too close to my house?

Why can’t I enjoy the convenience of having a restaurant close by?
