The Friday Feast: Nourishing More Than Just Bodies at Mfantsipim

It’s 1996. I am in Senior Secondary School at Mfantsipim. The dining hall meals won’t kill us but cannot be classified as food except on Fridays.

On Fridays, we have Rice with Palm Nut soup and Salmon for Lunch. The dining hall is full. We are all present. That meal was enjoyable every Friday. It gave us hope. It made us feel we existed.

It made us feel we mattered.
