Migraine Chronicles #9

It’s 8:30 pm in 2015. I am sitting and sweating in Conflict of law lectures. The class is the usual mixture of boring meets abstract. I am writing down my notes. I raise my head and I see lights flashing. There are flicking lights in my vision. I am experiencing a loss of vision in my left eye. I am at the beginning of my migraines. I quietly settle in. I am in trouble now. The class ends at 9:00 pm.

How am I going to drive home?

The class ends and I go back to my car. I decide to take a quick nap. But I can’t wait at the parking lot for long. It is almost 9:30 pm and everyone is leaving. I can’t sleep in my car that late.

I turn on my car’s ignition and start driving. I am driving with one blind eye. I drive with no vision in my left eye for up to 30 minutes. I manage to reach home safely. I take off my clothes and quickly get to bed.
